In the night

Do you ever see wild animals?

There are plenty of “wild” animals where I live but unfortunately most have left because of the industrial park nearby. I counted 5 new buildings, plus 3 already existing but they are adding to the building. NTM there are many more people who aren’t really into the jive of our visitors. There are red foxes who prey on the neighbors chickens. They hide out back in the trees. The most frequent visitors are deer. They return every winter. Sadly one is hit by a car on the main road all too frequently. Once when we first moved her there was a baby porcupine who was lost and inside my garage. Now it’s just the bunnies, chipmunks and the squirrels until spring. In summers past we could sit on the patio watching the foxes as they came from behind our home past the greenhouse and traveled up the street. When darkness falls the real world comes alive.

This photo is from my cameras. The lone deer fought off another to be the sole eater of the raspberry bushes which I usually cut down before first snow. Guess my laziness was a good thing?

Eat well Momma deer
