What have you been putting off doing? Why?
I have been putting off mending this blanket along with the quilt from Mom’s house. Seems my hands due to numerous factors are working right? First I broke my wrist, had surgery to set it. Second procedure was done to place a tendon from the index finger because the original one had snapped during the fall. After that came the removal of the metal plate and screws because they really bothered me and caused pain. That’s 3 procedures in just over a year. .
Now I am left with hands that aren’t quite working right. I I am a sewer. A seamstress unable to thread a needle. My machines have been sitting unused. It’s sad.

Now, today I did a simple repair of the quilt I love so much. As puppies they ate it! This particular blanket is commercially made. It’s heavy in the winter but lightweight for summer. To me it’s pure love for the weight of its stitches. It is pure comfort any season. Wrap it securely with the mended part touching your skin? It feels so good doesn’t it?

Next I will remove my Mom’s quilt from inside the old steamer trunk. I know it will require much work. Take the entire blanket apart quilt block by block. Replacing any piece thread work or tattered. Finally stitching it all back together with the repairs hidden by fusing old with invisible new.
That is the life of a quilter with RA. My hands are permanently unworkable but if I make them work I forget the pain the cause
