What aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?
Just had to put the front photo…. Thelma as always is too cute? Louise is photo bombing. Not planned! I didn’t even notice her. Just love that Thelmas ear is falling down. I sent the pic to my friend and she noticed it. yup.
Sadly I do not have any memory of my heritage. French. Don’t speak nor understand a word of French despite taking FRENCH 101 tree times. Failed each time.
The heritage I am is ITALIAN.My husband was raised on Lasagna mondays. His mom was a great cook of anything pasta. My favorite was vegetable lasagna. Although I have modernized the recipe, taking the meat out…since it is veggies right? When I make a batch it goes far and wide to friends and friends of friends who head it’s good. It is the dish I make to share when there is a death. Sharing is caring.
My husband is from a large extended Italian family. Every fall there is a Feast of Three Saints. People come from wherever the moved to go celebrate the feast. The food is the best authentic Italian feast ever. I
I don’t miss being friends, my birthright because they’re never really plus anything to celebrate. My mother-in-law turned me into an Italian just by spending time with her, learning, her recipes and learning how to swear in Italian she was the light of my life. She used to say I could be your mother because she knew the bad history between my mother and I. She was my mother. ♥️😥 I miss her dearly.
